Going where every podcast has gone before, it’s the all new Geek at Arms! In a crossover episode we welcome Francisco and Paul from the oft mentioned Retro Rewind Podcast! In Geek Out, Paul shares how much he’s enjoyed the anime Re:Zero and watching The Goldbergs with his wife. Next, Francisco talks about catching up on the latest season of Stranger Things and how much he’s crushing on Cobra Kai. Bryan then proceeds to blow James’ mind by sharing how he started his own Twitch stream, playing MtG: Arena, Destiny 2, and Factorio. Mike shares his latest favorite anime BNA: Brand New Animal. Finally, James describes playing Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint, which leads to discussion of who, besides Arnold, would make a good Terminator. Then, in a special Film Club which serves as Part 2 to Retro Rewind Podcast Episode 209: Star Trek II: The Wrath of Kahn, we review the 2013 Star Trek Into Darkness!

Once more with feeling, it’s the new episode of Geek at Arms! Bryan starts off Geek Out with his recent study of Unreal Engine and how much he’s enjoyed the latest release from Magic: the Gathering: Arena—Amonkhet Remastered. Next, Mike shares how much his family has enjoyed the Netflix series The Umbrella Academy. He also geeks out heavily over his latest requisition from Starfleet: Star Trek facemasks! James shares his own face protection geekery with a a pair of medieval themed neck gaiters he loves, and how much he and his wife have enjoyed both Star Trek: Discovery and the new animated series Lower Decks. After he gushes for a bit about a new pair of medieval swordfighting manuals he recently obtained, the guys head to their main topic. In the final film of the “Superhero Movies that aren’t a part of the Big 2” Film Club, they take a look at the 2008 online musical sensation Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog!

Stay inside and listen to the newest episode of Geek at Arms! James starts Geek Out with a review of the historical fiction novel The Ill-Made Knight by Christian Cameron which leads to a long discussion with Mike about medieval archery and it’s effectiveness against armor. James also describe show much he’s enjoyed playing Magic the Gathering: Arena with Bryan and replaying the classic Star Wars: Battlefront on XBox with his wife. Next Mike shares his enjoyment at reading The Lord of The Rings with his daughters and the ups and downs of replaying the platforming game Hollow Knight. Bryan wraps things up with how eager he is for Peace Talks, the newest book in The Dresden Files from author Jim Butcher. He also shares how much he enjoyed playing a Scooby Doo/Call of Cthulhu game GM’ed by the GeekPreacher himself, Derek White. Finally, the guys discuss how they have been dealing with the current Quarantine.

We return with our first episode of the New Year! Kicking off Geek Out James gives a glowing review of The Powder Mage Trilogy by Brian McClellan. He then dives into everything Star Wars related he’s experienced in the past couple of months: from playing Jedi:Fallen Order to watching The Rise of Skywalker & The Mandalorian. Next Bryan describes a reality-bending campaign of D&D he’s been taking part in and how much he’s enjoyed Magic the Gathering: Arena. Mike shares how he’s begun keeping a journal for when he reads historical fencing manuals and how much his family has enjoyed the board games Ex Libris and the TIME Stories expansion Lumen Fidei. The guys then discuss the final film of the Animated Film Club, the 2018 modern hit Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse!

Mike kicks off Geek Out with why James & Bryan came to mind during a recent camping trip, and also shares his thoughts on the book Well Met: Renaissance Faires and the American Counterculture. In Geek Out James shares his thoughts on the books A Theft of Swords and Goblinopolis, and how he has finally started watching Stranger Things. Mike describes his virtual zombie hunting adventure, and Bryan takes us through his journey of watching Veronica Mars and geting back into the legendary pc game, Myst. The guys then do a do a special To The Future where they share what geeky events they’re looking forward to in the upcoming year.
